Great food and friendly staff. Love the lasagna and Italian dishes. Excellent music most nights. Great place. Dancing is also welcomed!

My son and I were anxious to dine here for the first time, but it was not meant to be. We were seated by a very friendly gentleman and that is the end of our experience. We walked out ten minutes later when not a single person acknowledged our presence. Thanks for nothing.

I had been meaning to eat here for awhile, and date night with the boyfriend presented the perfect opportunity! Hands down, I love this place. I'm so glad I gave it a try! The ambiance is bright and clean, with cute floral paintings and candles at every place setting. The staff was accountable and VERY friendly. Our waitress was Italian and quite lively, so sweet and personable. She really made us smile. My boyfriend tried the lasagna and I had the 4 cheese manicotti. My dish was amazing! It was flavorful, hearty, and filling. Each entree was accompanied by fresh bread and a simple but tasty starter salad. If that weren't enough, they have happy hour every day from 5-7 pm. We enjoyed house Cabernet at only $3 a glass! They also have various drink specials per night, so definitely ask! After gobbling down our entrees and appetizers, the sweet waitress brought out a huge tray of all of the desserts offered. We were floored. We settled for a Canoli Cake that blew us away. All desserts are made fresh in house! I had a great date night at this local eatery. Please give the lovely staff some business if you're in the Fleming Island area! I'm so happy we have this option. Great job Park Ave!

Excellent value and quality, the brunch was phenomenal and a welcome addition to the Fleming Island/Orange Park area. The prime rib was excellent and so was the carrot souffle, the desserts (rumballs and cream puffs) were very good.

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. It was THAT DANG GOOD! I just happen to find this place on Facebook and I saw that this was a fairly new place but very little reviews were written about it. All were positive reviews though. So I rounded up some friends and made the trip down 17 to Fleming Island to their little strip mall. The place itself was not heavily decorated, just a nice black and white color scheme. The restaurant is separated into 3 sections: the bar area, the larger party area, and the smaller area. On their walls is a small art gallery featuring photo manipulation and that artwork is for sale. They also have a piano as they sometimes have live entertainment. By looking over the menu, you find out that they serve mostly Italian/Mediterranean cuisine and everything is reasonably priced. One friend ordered a glass of Cabernet. One sip and she swore up and down that it was the best she's ever tasted. They ordered the Caprese Salad while I ordered the Shrimp & Feta. I was able to taste the Caprese Salad and it was omg delicious! We were told later that the chef makes it himself in-house with fresh basil. I ended up ordering one to-go because I had to experience that feeling of tasting the mozzarella again. Fabulous. My Shrimp & Feta was not as good as the salad but excellent. Jumbo shrimp were used and butterflied with the feta in a Vermouth, garlic, and tomato sauce. The shrimp was cooked just right and feta melts in your mouth. That was just the appetizers, what's next? We each ordered a different entree. I ordered the Mediterranean Vegetable Pasta mostly after feeling guilty about not eating enough veggies in the past week. One friend ordered the Linguine Pescatore, another ordered the Flounder, and the other ordered the Veal Marsala. While we were waiting on our food, one of the other servers, Franco, came kept coming over to our table performing magic tricks with his "magic" string and a deck of playing cards. It sounds cheesy, but we played along and we enjoyed every minute of it, maybe too much as some of the other tables were looking at us funny. Whatever. When our entrees came out, we were very happy with the portion size. We "mmmm"'d and "oh my god"'d with every bite. None of us were able to finish them so we had our server box it up to-go. Our server Rosaria just happened to be the chef's wife. Lucky us. She is a real sweetheart. After chit-chatting with her, she offered us some Limoncello. I didn't think any restaurant here did that. Traditionally, it's offered after dinner to help with digestion, an alcoholic drink. She said her husband makes this as well and we all accepted it. Dang it was good, but it's meant to be sipped, not chugged. Then it was dessert time. Oh the deserts. She brought out a tray with several slices on it and and our jaws dropped. There was Raspberry-Strawberry Cake, Canoli Cake, Tiramisu, Black Forest Cake, Nutella Cake, Amaretto Cheesecake, and a Canoli. Once again, we all chose something different and took it to-go. She boxed up all our leftovers with the desserts at our table and even placed them in a bag for us. We got our bills expecting that we each did some major damage but in fact our totals were surprisingly reasonable and a good value for the quality and quantity of what we had. This place exceeded our expectations far beyond anything I could have expected. I'll definitely be back and encourage anyone to visit them. It was sooooo worth the trip.

My husband took me here for a birthday celebration. The food was mediocre at best. I ordered the lobster ravioli. After waiting an hour and fifteen minutes for our dinner after we ordered, it arrived cool, not even warm. The sauce was congealed because it had gotten so cold. My husband ordered the prime rib, blackened. It was not blackened and also was served lukewarm. The salads were bagged lettuce with one slice of cucumber and one slice of tomato, served with bottled salad dressing. The only redeeming part of the meal was the shrimp cakes. They were served hot and quickly. Even the rolls were not warm! Offering a customer an extra glass of complimentary wine to make up for slow service doesn't make everything okay. Our server was attentive enough, but it doesn't make up for the quality of the meal. It was a waste of $90.00. Won't be going back anytime soon.

Very surprising little find... Husband had lasagna and I had the chicken saltimbocca and it was amazing we travel a lot and love to find great food.... Don't let the strip plaza scare you away.

Just finished dinner and our first visit here. Appetizers and entrees were excellent. Although they had wine selections were limited. Service was excellent and our waiter performed magic tricks at our table after dinner. Will definitely be back sometime in the future.

This was our first visit and it was an amazing experience. The staff were wonderful and so friendly. We went there for dinner and i was so pleasant to go to an upscale restaurant as thee are certainly not many in this area. The food was delicious with generous portions. We shared the Bada Bing shrimp starter which was so tasty. I had the Linguini Pescatore and it was phenomenal, while my husband had a very tasty Sirloin with grilled shrimp and scallops. We shared the limoncello cake which was so moist and wonderful. We will definitely be returning soon.

The food was spectacular, the couple who runs it are warm and welcoming and the environment is cozy and comfortable. I highly recommend it as some of the best Italian I've had since I was last in Rome. Not a place to be missed

Based on reviews I was intrigued, glad we stopped by, amazing food and service they had live music too so this was a plus and a full bar. A great add to the Fleming OP area, food portions are large not an overwhelming menu and reasonable priced, only advise dim the lights a little. Will definitely be back for more. :) Thanks for the great service Franco!

Good food. Very nice ambiance. Had the breakfast brunch buffet and it was pretty good. Egg spinach and cheese quiche , pancakes, bacon, biscuits and gravy, fruit, port chops, rice and black beans and salad. They also had deserts.

I really like going into a small restaurant and seeing a limited menu. That, to me, means they know how to focus on a few things and really knock them out of the park. I even mentioned that to my dining companions when we arrived. Last night Park Avenue Bistro proved me right! I went to dinner with Maya C and she has done a better job than I ever could describing our food and our wonderful evening. I'll just add a few things: 1 - a first for me.. i ordered a second helping of the mozzarella and tomato appetizer for the next day because it was THAT good. Home made mozzarella, roma tomatoes, fresh garlic, fresh basil and greek olives. I wanted to lick my plate. 2 - HOUSEMADE limoncello. Does it get much better than that? Our server, Rosie, offered some to us and I jumped at the opportunity. As soon as I started sipping it i could immediately tell it was indeed made from scratch. Sooo good. I joked around about bringing my yelp flask in to be filled up as a leftover. If they sold it by the bottle I'd be their best customer. Have I raved enough about it? Just go. Go and eat yourself silly and then get the limoncello to get the digestion going. 3 - Maya mentioned how reasonable this place is. I'll be specific. I had TWO appetizers, two Peroni beers, the flounder (which came with salad and homemade italian dressing, fresh bread and vegetables), dessert and a diet coke.. for $64. I honestly expected to see a 3 digit bill and i didn't care at that point. Shoot, it's probably good i didn't know about how low my bill was going to be because I would have ended up with two desserts as well! I can't wait to have my leftovers! This place ranks pretty up there as the best meal I've had in Jacksonville.

First time Sunday brunch. Excellent reception and service. Very friendly staff. Food was very good, just a tad too salty for my tastes. Looking forward to trying them for dinner.

Park Avenue Bistro has the one thing you should ever look for in an italian restaurant: an actual italian couple that takes pride in making fresh, authentic meals. With that in store, this restaurant was a great experience! From the house wine to the fresh salad to lasagna and the desserts, everything exceeded expectations. The environment is simple and understated, its bright enough to feel welcoming to families but nice enough for date night. The pasta and cannoli cake (yum!) were hand made in store, and that quality went straight to the taste. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. 5/5

This restaurant has amazing food. I ordered the caprese salad as an appetizer and the special of the day for an entree. The mozzerella is homemade and it was absolutely delicious! The special of the day was an amazing fish dish with the most delicious sauce filled with scallops and shrimp. They had lots of great looking desserts as well. I ordered one to go. I was too full to eat it right then, but I couldn't pass it up either. I think our waitress was the owner. She made you feel right at home. One of the waiters came around to our table and performed magic tricks with cards and string. The wait for the food to come out was a little long, but the wait was worth it. The food was obviously freshly prepared to order and it was perfection.

Park Avenue Bistro is owned and operated by Connie, David, and Kenney, who owned and operated David's Restaurant on Kingsley in Orange Park years ago. We had lunch today for just under $20; 1 Flatbread with chicken accompanied by a small salad; and 1 house salad accompanied by grilled salmon. The food was excellent, and priced comparably with other well appointed restaurants. This is not fast food, but well prepared food that may take a little time to make, so plan for it; the time taken is not unreasonable. The restaurant is clean, with white table cloths, and a congenial staff. While we were there, Connie was roaming and talking with customers; a very good sign. We'll return for dinner, including oysters, and the Sunday Brunch.

Great little Fleming Island gem. Went on a Tuesday, Italian night, and loved it. I had lasagna, the wife had canneloni in a white sauce, and they were both great. Two beers and a wine, and the bill was still under $50. Wonderful service means we'll be back to check out the full menu soon. In the meantime, check out this place on a Tuesday night. Best Italian I've had in a long time.

Oh my goodness this was a totally awesome experience! Lots of food for the money. Be prepared to wait as it is prepared fresh. The desserts are to die for! Go at least once and you will definitely return. Live music once a month which was great. This is very good for orange park!

Our first time for brunch & we were very happy with the meal. Tried the prime rib, green beans, sausage gravy, fresh fruit, bacon & sausage, hash brown casserole- pleased with all. The rum balls were very good and so were the cream puffs.

A nice Italian restaurant located, oddly enough, next to another Italian restaurant in a strip mall. My partner and I went for Valentines Day, so the menu was limited, but offered something for everyone. With roots in RI my expectations for an Italian restaurant are very high. This restaurant would be amongst the many up north, but here in JAX it is a cut above the rest. I may have given it 5 stars except for the excessive amount of cheese in the items we ordered. The "stuffed mushrooms" were filled with cheese and had no actual stuffing in them. I ordered Veal Parmigiana which was delicious, but again it had as much cheese as it did meat (yes, I realize it is supposed to have cheese, but the cheese is supposed to enhance the meat, not overpower it). The marinara sauce was excellent. My partner's Salmon was excellent, as was the Italian Rum Cake which we shared for dessert. We drank the house wines which were also quite good. I have been to several Italian restaurants in the JAX area and this is the best so far. I definitely recommend this restaurant and plan to revisit when they offer a full menu.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
